Technical Requirements

Centennial Discovery and Centennial License Manager, the two core component parts of Centennial SAM.Suite can be co-located on the same server. However, we recommend that for installations of more than 10,000 PCs, the two applications are hosted on seperate servers.

For optimal performance, the Centennial Discovery and Centennial License Manager databases should be stored on separate SQL instances. Centennial Software recommends the 2005 version of SQL.

Notes for existing Centennial Discovery users:

  • Existing Centennial Discovery customers upgrading to SAM.Suite must upgrade their Discovery installation to Discovery 2007 or later.
  • When upgrading, Discovery MSDE installations must be upgraded to SQL 2005 Express
  • License Manager does not support MSDE, the minimum requirement is for SQL 2005 Express
