Software represents a significant investment by your customers. However, effective management of that investment can be elusive for many organizations. The result is an unsteady balance of under-licensed software that puts the organization at risk of a compliance breach, and over-licensed software that creates added cost.
MicroAUDIT™ provides a new low-cost, low-effort approach to Software Asset Management (SAM). It is the first and only solution to provide users with both the technology required to identify what software is installed on the network and documented best practices to help organizations take the first steps toward true software asset management.
And best of all, MicroAUDIT comes from your customers’ most-trusted advisors. You.
MicroAUDIT answers all three key areas of Software Asset Management:
1. Establishing SAM best practices
Whether as complement to a SAM consultant or as guidance to help organizations go it alone, MicroAUDIT features documented SAM best practices which give organizations the added benefit of a ‘consultant-in-a-box’.
Designed in partnership with leading SAM practitioners, the MicroAUDIT best practices guides and online documentation point the user through each step required to perform an effective software management project.
2. Creating an accurate snapshot of current software installations
An accurate software inventory is a critical step in planning software upgrades, license purchases, enterprise licenses, etc. MicroAUDIT takes a snapshot of all software installed on target PCs, gathering data from the registry including CD keys, product ID codes and serial numbers (where available) so the data is accurate, complete and up to date.
The client agent then reports its findings back to the server before uninstalling itself with no residue on left the target PC.
3. Comprehensive compliance reporting
MicroAUDIT provides a wide range of reports that are specifically designed for use within a software audit project, from company-wide summaries to detailed information on installed software totals for licensed products and the type of device on which they are installed (e.g. server, desktop, notebook).
Reports can be viewed via a web browser or easily exported to Microsoft Excel (or other tools) for further analysis or processing.
