New research has revealed an alarming lack of action to protect against the security threats posed by the explosion of portable media devices in today’s business environment, despite their ability to convey large amounts of data, and to be quickly and easily be introduced or removed. In a recent Centennial poll, 87% companies questioned had not acted to prevent the introduction onto the network of illegitimate devices, such as CDRs, iPods, MP3 players or USB memory sticks. In stark contrast, 51% of those questioned were aware of the risks posed by such devices.
