The Wrekin Housing Trust combats portable menace with DeviceWall

August 8, 2006 - The Wrekin Housing Trust, one of the largest independent housing providers in the UK's Midlands, has selected Centennial's DeviceWall to protect confidential data from the threat posed by portable devices such as USB drives and iPods.The Trust will deploy the award-winning endpoint security software tool to 450 desktops to understand exactly what is being connected to the network and enforce a policy governing removable media use.

This will ensure that its sensitive information cannot be removed from the network via unauthorized portable devices or damaged by viruses being transferred onto company-owned PCs.

"With over 12,000 properties on our books, we're responsible for vast amounts of confidential information which we cannot afford to be compromised," said Rick Korsak, desktop and server resources specialist at The Wrekin Housing Trust. "The rise of gadgets in the office meant this data could be easily stolen or damaged without us being any the wiser."
