British charities launch fundraising through CRM

Two charities in the UK have installed on-demand customer relationship management (CRM) systems to improve fundraising, highlighting the importance of CRM in the modern workplace, according to one source.

Compassion UK, a poverty relief organisation, and WSPA UK, an animal welfare supporter, are taking on board the systems in order to help the organisations keep in close contact with donors and develop new relationships, Computer Weekly stated.

The technology means that both charities are able to use a single customer view with sponsors as well as improve the insight of call centre employees who may liaise with the client, allowing them to understand key facts and figures.

Prior to the installation of CRM facilities, WSPA UK - more formally known as the World Society for Protection of Animals - had its major information saved to one folder only, meaning limited access to important files.

Compassion is an evangelical Christian child sponsorship organisation which aims to break the "cycle of deprivation" faced by the youngest generation.
