Software based solution not always the only option

Appliance-based remote support is as good as the software-based variety, according to one expert.

He said that the software offering was not available and that a solution for instant-on-support was needed.

In addition, Mr Bomgar does not charge a license per application used, instead he charges for the number of sessions it is supporting at any one time.

Bomgar's product also helps IT auditors as it stores the vital information on the hard disk.

This may help companies, as it has recently been revealed that some companies find it very difficult to be vigilant on software usage and compliance.

WWPI.com said that many IT departments are stretched thin on resources, meaning software compliance can fall off the radar.
