The Microsoft Service Provider License Agreement (SPLA) can provide significant benefits, according to the company's lead marketing manager of hosting solutions.
Michael van Dijken told Redmond Developer News that both those providing services to customers and organisations providing services to third-party customers need to be aware of the SPLA.
He claimed: "There are a lot of things built into the program specifically to meet the needs of service providers. So, there are great benefits."
The license offers a number of features which may be beneficial to organisations, including no upfront costs, month-to-month licensing and "some sort of software assurance", he explained.
Microsoft claims that it is offering "pricing stability" with the license, ensuring that any changes in cost will only occur on an annual basis each January.
Additionally, companies will also be able to use the SPLA to sell their products and provide services to customers all over the world.
