BSA continues activities in Canada
Two more Canadian firms have been the subject of action from the Business Software Alliance (BSA) for allegedly using unlicensed software. The companies were fined a collective $42,000 for using more copies of applications than they were legally entitled to.
“Not only is software piracy against the law, but it also increases the risk for security and technical complications. Therefore, companies need to establish proper software asset management policies and procedures in the first place rather than risk paying damages for unlicensed software use down the road,” said Michael Murphy, BSA Canada committee chairperson.
